The Analysis of Deictic Words in the Fan Fiction Story Entitled "The Girl Who Smiles" By Your Reminisce

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the deictic words realized in the fan fiction story entitled “The Girl Who Always Smiles†by Your Reminisce. This is one of the descriptive qualitative types and the writer used Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) as the method. The data were taken from the fan fiction story spread out in the internet. The data consist of 79 oral utterances in which each utterance usually consists of one or more deixis. There are 73 first person deixis consisting of the deictic words like I, me, my, mine, we, and us; 84 second person deixis consisting of the deictic words like you, your, and yourself; 53 third person deixis consisting of the deictic words like they, them, she, her, he, and it; 20 place deixis consisting of the deictic words like this, that, here, there, and those, and 19 time deixis like now, next week, last week, and just now.
