Abstract

This research examines the role of the internet in improving the quality of learning reading and public speaking skills in junior high schools. Amidst advances in information technology, easy access to the internet provides students with the opportunity to explore a variety of resources, including scientific articles, e-books and learning videos. These resources support the implementation of the flipped classroom model, which has proven effective in improving student understanding and engagement. Nonetheless, there are challenges in the suboptimal utilization of technology by students and teachers, such as the lack of digital skills and understanding of appropriate sources. In addition, this research highlights the importance of reading skills as a foundation for public speaking, where reading can enrich students' vocabulary and comprehension. This contributes to increasing students' confidence when speaking in public. The method used in this research is a

 

literature review, with analysis and synthesis of various scientific sources related to the use of the internet in the development of these skills. Hopefully, the results of this study provide insights for educators on the importance of internet integration in the learning process to develop students' communication skills in the growing digital era.
