Abstract

This research aims to conduct research on diplomacy and the use of military force by the Indonesian National Navy. This research includes qualitative descriptive research that uses primary and secondary data. The type of research is a comprehensive analytical study of primary and secondary materials. The results of the study are presented in a complete, detailed, clear and scientifically systematic manner. Data analysis, namely describing the data in the form of good and correct sentences, so that it is easy to read and give meaning (interpreted) so that the results of data analysis make it easier to draw inductive conclusions. The material (data) resulting from the processing is analyzed qualitatively and then discussed. Based on the results of the discussion, conclusions are then drawn as answers to the problems studied. This research concludes that sea power is a means of diplomacy in supporting the government's foreign policy, and is designed to influence the leadership of a country or several countries in peaceful or hostile situations. The role of naval diplomacy is carried out in a positive way through interaction and cooperation with friendly countries such as joint exercises and operations, personnel exchanges, as well as multilateral cooperation forums as a forum for carrying out naval diplomacy in order to support the government's foreign policy.
