NEWMAN’S ERROR ANALYSIS (NEA) DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL BANGUN RUANG DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN SPASIAL

Penelitian ini mendiskripsikan jenis kesalahan berdasarkan prosedur NEA (Newman’s Error Analysis) dan mengidentifikasi penyebab kesalahan mahasiswa materi bangun ruang ditinjau dari kemampuan spasial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pemilihan subjek adalah purposive sampling yaitu sejumlah 41 mahasiswa, sebanyak 12 mahasiswa dengan kemampuan spasial tinggi, 14 mahasiswa dengan kemampuan spasial sedang dan 15 mahasiswa dengan kemampuan spasial rendah. Adapun yang menjadi pertimbangan dalam penentuan subjek adalah hasil tes diagnostik kesalahan yang disertai dengan CRI. Sumber data diperoleh dari hasil tes diagnostik kesalahan yang disertai skor Certainly of Response Index (CRI), tes spasial dan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Miles dan Huberman.

Abstract

This study describes a type of error based on the NEA procedure (Newman's Error Analysis) and the identifies are the cause of the students' error in building the space in terms of spatial ability. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a case study method. The technique used in the selection of subjects is purposive sampling which is 41 students, 12 students with high spatial ability, 14 students with medium spatial ability and 15 students with low spatial ability. As for the consideration in the determination of the subject is the result of diagnostic test error which is accompanied by CRI. The data sources is obtained from the results ofdiagnostic tests of errors along with Certainly of Response Index (CRI) scores, spatial tests and interviews. Data analysis used is Miles and Huberman model.
