Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by comic media in improving students’ writing skills. This type of research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest type. The population in this study consisted of all fourth-grade students of Cilibur 02 Elementary School, namely 33 students. The entire population was also used as a research sample. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used paired sample t-test. The results of the hypothesis test showed that t_count>t_table (32.292>2.036), so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model assisted by comic media is effective in improving the Indonesian writing skills of fourth-grade students of Cilibur 02 Elementary School.
