Abstract

This research is based on the finding that fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Ciomas still experience significant difficulties in learning Mathematics, particularly with word problems and basic operations, further aggravated by low self-confidence and non- adaptive teaching methods. This research aims to analyze the Mathematics learning difficulties experienced by fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Ciomas, Brebes Regency, examined through the lens of their learning styles. This descriptive qualitative study involved 18 students as subjects. The primary data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that fifth-grade students have varied learning styles: 7 visual, 6 auditory, and 5 kinesthetic. Student learning difficulties were strongly influenced by their learning styles: visual students struggled with understanding problems without visualization; auditory students struggled with Mathematics problem-solving; and kinesthetic students had difficulty with calculations and arithmetic operations without physical activity. It can be concluded that the Mathematics learning difficulties experienced by fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Ciomas are highly varied and must be reviewed based on each student's respective learning style. The implication of these findings is the necessity for teachers to identify learning styles and to vary adaptive teaching methods. Further research is suggested to develop an appropriate learning model.
