English Vowel Pronunciation Problems Faced by French Teenagers Aged 14 to 20 Living in Geneva

The aim of this study is to find out English vowel pronunciation problems faced by French teenagers aged 14 to 20 lived in Geneva, and to find out the internal and external factors of pronunciation problems faced by French teenagers aged 14 to 20 lived in Geneva. This is a descriptive qualitative study in which the data are taken from interview, test and documentation. The techniques of data analysis are data reduction and data display. Based on the result of the study, the study finds out that French teenagers still have some difficulty in English vowel pronunciation because English vowel and French vowel are different but also most French teenagers have some lack of confidence in speaking English. French teenagers experience English vowel pronunciation difficulties with most of vowel mistake are 6 vowels such as /ӕ/, /ʊ/, /ʌ/, /ͻ/, /ɔ: /, and /u/.
