Abstract

This research is about the first woman who became President in
Singapore, namely Halimah Yacob. The election of Halimah Yacob raises the
pros and cons in Singapore, because Halimah comes from the Malay ethnic
Muslim religion, where the majority of Singapore is dominated by ethnic
Chinese and Buddhists. This thesis aims to analyze minority studies in the
case study of the election of Halimah Yacob.

his study uses qualitative data analysis techniques that show the
results through minority influence theory can analyze minority figures
successfully become leaders in a country. Halimah Yacob has met the criteria
of minority influence theory in Consistency, Confident and Motive.
